"Emma" by Jane Austen

OK, so this is going to get me in trouble, but I did not like this book!!!!  I tried, I really tried, to "get into it" but was not inspired in the way that I've heard so many say they are about it.  The characterizations were wonderful, but the themes were just not something that captured my rapt attention.  I have a hard time getting excited about the whole class divisions / etiquette thing, anyway (obviously for those of you who know me well).  The funny thing is, I had seen the movie prior to reading the book, and couldn't remember a thing about it.  That should have tipped me off that it didn't really touch my soul :)
