Summer Fun at Atria

Our Summer Fun set was kicked off today at Atria Park in Tucker. This idea came from Catherine, a friend of our team, who had been hearing about this music ministry for over a year. She said, “You guys should do a summer set.” We invited her to join us in creating the set. She picked the songs, gave it the name “Summer Fun” and shopped at thrift stores to find beach balls, floats and sunglasses to share with the residents. We had a wonderful time – Tamera, Catherine, Patricia, Shelly, Pam, and Karen! The Atria residents joined in right away singing, dancing and playing catch with the beach balls as they circled around the room! As the music portion came to a close, the ministry there continued as we connected with each of our friends at Atria. Many made comments that today was so much fun because we had picked songs they love. One precious lady said, “those were my songs. I knew them all!” Music is a powerful language and provides a means to connect with our neighbors. We feel so blessed to have this opportunity.

Jeremiah 17:7b-8 (The Message) – “Blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God … Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.
