Bears! (thank you, The Cowsills!)

This song was inspired by the photo of huge, adorable, cuddly teddy bears providing social distancing at a outdoor cafe in Germany (in case you haven’t seen it yet, I’ve included it twice in this video). I hope you enjoy this fun song and that it brings a smile to your face and a song in your heart today. Hang in there – life is hard but God is good, so let’s hug some teddy bears and sing anyway. Thank you, The Cowsills, for your great music! May God bless you, protect you, and give you peace!

Music: “Hair” (The Cowsills)

Words by me: You ask me why I’d like some teddy bears – lovable noon and nighty night night, cute bears to hug tight, adorable high and low. Just ask me why – oh, please, let’s go! It’s all for lack of hugs, oh, those heartstrings tug, darling. Give me a seat with bears – huge, cuddly bears – fluffy, friendly, feeling soft and snuggly. Give me down-to-earth bears – shoulder-high or taller. Bear baby, bear mama, everywhere, teddy daddy – bears, bear, bear, bear, bear, bear! Can I squeeze them? Long as I can hug them, those bears! Let’s go eat at this place and get caught-in- em-brace, leave our home and just squeeze teddy bears. Happiness in hugging, such sweet songs in singing, such joy like birds – there ain’t no words for the plushness, the softness, the wonder of those bears, bear, bear, bear, bear, bear! Can I squeeze them? Long as I can hug them, those bears! I want them long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty, oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, steaming, gleaming, flaxen, waxen, knotted, polka-dotted, twisted, beaded, braided, powdered, flowered, and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied! Oh, say, can you see my heart, if you can? Let the bears come forth down to here, down to there, down to there, down to where they sit by themselves. We’ll always get to hug them ’cause they sit by themselves, oh! Can I squeeze them? Long as I can hug them, those bears!
