Ants, Ants, Ants (thank you, Justin Timberlake!)

King Solomon wrote some proverbs about ants thousands of years ago, encouraging us to consider their ways and gain wisdom. We encountered a very long line of ants while out hiking on a hot day in Montenegro recently (you can occasionally see the edge of my shoe) – I was astounded at the sheer numbers of ants in this colony, some of whom were carrying huge loads. Aren’t they inspiring? Thank you, Justin Timberlake, for your great music! May God bless you, protect you, and give you peace!

Music: “Can’t Stop the Feeling” (Justin Timberlake)

Words by me: We see them moving inside their bones. They’re quite electric, wavy, as they work and roam all through the city, all through our homes. No flying, only walking, when they’re in the zone. They’ve got that sunshine in their pockets, got that good song in their feet. They’re cold blooded, like all insects. They like heat – ooh! We can’t take our eyes off of them, moving so phenomenally. We just like the way they rock it, so don’t stop or hinder them hauling everything found – nowhere to hide when they’re hiking around. How they move, well, we already know, but just imagine, just imagine, just imagine! Nothing can compare to those little ants, ants, ants storing food, food, toiling hard, industrious ants, ants, ants, come on. All the heavy stuff they carry, those ants, ants, ants. They gather what they’ll need soon, they keep working. Just so appealing – awesome ants, ants, ants. With joy we’re squealing – happy ants, ants, ants, come on. Ooh, it’s something magical. It’s in their genes, it’s in their blood, they’re rushing on. They don’t need no reason, don’t need control. They could walk on the ceiling when they’re in the zone.
