What can an individual do to help?
That’s a great question! Aside from all of the things we can do to care for the physical health of ourselves and those in our households, here are two things I can heartily recommend (along with the links provided above):
- Care for yourself emotionally and spiritually (I created Abide and Mental Health for this exact purpose)
- Follow the guidelines provided by the CDC (guidance for vaccinated persons), CDC (guidance for unvaccinated persons), WHO (Q & A), and your national / local public health departments. (Common, basic guidelines everywhere during a global pandemic include: wear a mask, social distance, wash hands, ventilate indoors.) Even though it’s sometimes hard to identify the best sources of information, these groups are still the top authorities in the world on this topic who have the most qualified personnel and access to / ability to assess the most recent peer-reviewed literature. Social media and so-called “internet research” are not good sources for reliable information!
