Here, there, and everywhere

Testimony Sunday – November 30th, 2025 – Here, there, and everywhere

Today is the fifth Sunday of the month, which means that instead of our usual sermon at this time, we are going to share testimonies with one another. Our previous Testimony Sunday was on the last day of August. Wow, a lot of life has happened in the last three months!

Testimonies are simply personal stories of where we have noticed Jesus at work in and among and around us, always doing a good, holy, and beautiful work in every person and in every part of creation. Every once in a while, we might get to share a story that we feel is more or less complete. But most of the stories we tell are incomplete because the story, God’s story, goes on. We are all part of God’s story!

You might feel like what you’ve noticed is too insignificant to share. I want to encourage you to share it anyway. In the kingdom of God, nothing is wasted. Your small sharing of a situation where you noticed God’s fingerprints may bring much-needed hope, comfort, or encouragement to someone else.

I invite you to consider where you have caught glimpses of God here, inside of you, in your inner life, perhaps a gift or a grace you have received from God. Perhaps a personal encounter you’ve had with God. Perhaps a personal “aha” you’ve received recently. Perhaps a new insight you’ve gained into a familiar Scripture.

Consider where you have caught glimpses of God there, in the ordinary routines of your day-to-day life. Perhaps some kind of healing that you or a loved one has experienced. Perhaps some kind of relational reconciliation that you’ve become aware of. Perhaps some kind of provision that can only be explained by God’s grace.

Consider where you have caught glimpses of God everywhere, as you have interacted with others in situations and places with neighbors near or far. Perhaps some kind of restoration of hope that you’ve noticed. Perhaps some kind of spiritual conversation that went deeper than you had expected. Perhaps some kind of coincidence that is really more of a God-incidence.

God’s love is everywhere!
And if God’s beside us, on him we can cast our cares.
For, to know God is to see God everywhere,
knowing that love is to share.
Each one believing that love never dies, keeping our eyes on Jesus, who’s always there.
God will be there and everywhere.
Here, there, and everywhere!

In Matthew 28:20, Jesus said, “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Our stories are not over yet. God is still present, alive, and working here, there, and everywhere. I invite you today to be willing, humble, and brave, and share whatever glimpses of God the Lord highlights to you today. Whether we’re the ones living the story, the ones telling the story, or the ones hearing the story, we will all be strengthened and encouraged. The Holy Spirit turns ordinary people like us into agents of transformation as we simply do small things with great love. And as we share these small stories, the body of Christ is built up, encouraged, and strengthened.

If you have a story to share and you’re in the room, I invite you to make your way to the front seat over here in readiness. If you have a story to share and you’re on Zoom, please let Paul know and he’ll give me a signal.

Come, Holy Spirit!
