Songs to Live By at Atria LG

Although I missed the first two sets of “Songs to Live By” (at Atria and TPC – both fabulous!) earlier this month, I was delighted to be able to join my dear friends Tamera, Patricia, Pam, and Shelly in their third and final set at Atria LG just two days after returning from a long visit with our grandchildren and their parents! It was a precious time for me, being able to sit with residents and staff (including Dad’s favorite, Leila) and enjoy a wide variety of beautiful music together, as I did with my Dad on many occasions when he lived there. One of Dad’s fellow residents who had moved out during his time there had moved back in, and one of her daughters was visiting from out of state and was delighted to be there for this special set in this memory care unit which is truly family. Each song “hit the mark” and brought inspiration, joy, and tears with heartfelt lyrics that offer us all guidance for our lives and words of life. The room was filled with singing, hand motions, and dancing in place (who can forget Ms. Thelma’s shoulder moves!) … love and joy abounded as we sang of the highs and lows in life and remembered how much God loves us all.
