Christmas 2014

Our annual Sculley family tradition of “Christmas Around the World” is about to begin! We will read the last portions of this year’s Christmas Advent story “Bartholemew’s Passage” (a wonderful story woven around the story of Jesus’ birth) and read the traditions from each country before doing one special tradition from each of 10 countries. This year – Argentina (launching globos into the sky, paper lanterns with lights), Sweden (Karis will be St. Lucia and serve hot chocolate & pepparkakor), U.S.A. (Christmas carol medley), Iceland (we’re making “leaf bread”), India (giving gifts to those in need around the world via Samaritan’s Purse & World Vision), Romania (making blessing posters & praying for each other), Ethiopia (making team gingerbread houses), South Africa (music-themed Christmas crackers), Russia (Michael will be Grandfather Frost, Esther will be Snegurochka to distribute stockings & gifts), and Australia (singing a final carol by candlelight!) Our main meal will be tucked into the middle of all this somewhere! We loooooove celebrating Christmas – God is so good to us all and we thank and praise Him!
