Crispy Pan-Fried Tofu

Crispy Pan-Fried Tofu
Ingredients
  • 1.5 T olive oil
  • 1 package extra firm tofu
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • spring green onions chopped
  • red chili chopped
  • white sesame seeds toasted
  • chili soy garlic sauce
Instructions
  1. Drain tofu and gently squeeze out excess water, using paper towels. Set the block on a cutting board, and cut tofu block up into 1.5cm cubes.

  2. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes, spreading them out around the pan to avoid overcrowding. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Allow to cook undisturbed for a minute. Gently flip the cubes with a spatula, and season with salt and black pepper (as needed).

  3. Brown the tofu cubes on all sides for about 10-12 minutes, flipping occasionally. Once all the cubes are nice and crispy, switch off the heat and transfer to a serving plate.

  4. Just before serving, sprinkle with chopped spring onion, red chili, and toasted white sesame seeds. Serve with Chili Soy Garlic Sauce.
