More than 2m, just more than 6ft (thank you, Bee Gees!)

All over the world people are in various stages of lockdown or quarantine. Some restrictions are being eased. But it’s clear that social distancing will be with us all for some time. I hope this song encourages us all that even though life has changed, we CAN adapt and life WILL go on. We have a new normal for now – whenever we meet with other people, let’s all make the choice and the effort to stay “more than 2m, just more than 6ft” away from others! It’s a simple way to show love and respect and care for all other people in our community and beyond. Disclaimer: because I am visiting myself in this video OUTSIDE, I am not wearing a mask. If you are indoors while spending time with someone else, please wear a mask while maintaining social distancing! Thank you again, Bee Gees, for your great music. May God bless you, protect you, and give you peace!

Music: “More Than A Woman” (Bee Gees)
Words by me: Friend, I know you very well I used to see you every week. It’s been nice to video chat with you, but now face-to-face I’d like to speak. Suddenly our lives all changed. Apart from one another, and we want to be together. We’re just hoping we can all meet again. Here on the internet we can Zoom and Skype, our online chance for happiness. And when we lose our signal, we fret and we gripe. Say we’ll try and meet as soon as this lockdown is done. We’ll wear our masks with social distancing. And you’ll stay more than two metres, more than two metres from me, just more than six feet, just more than six feet from me. Ahhh! There are stories old and true of friends and family like you and me who would go around to visit. Oh yes, life was grand, exquisite. Reflecting how we can hang out and thinking about those people then, I know for sure from this day on, I’d gladly meet with you again. This is the only way that we should fly. This is the only way to go. If we had to stay at home again, we would not die. We’d help each other to remember all that’s right and good, and we’d do all we know the very best that we could. And you’ll stay more than two metres, more than two metres from me, just more than six feet, just more than six feet from me. Ahhh! And you’ll stay more than two metres, more than two metres from me, just more than six feet, just more than six feet from me. More than two metres, more than two metres from me, just more than six feet, just more than six feet from me.
