Here are some of my scribblings from seminary (actual assignments I’ve turned in!) that I’d like to share here, in the hopes that it will encourage you in your faith, and perhaps even help you to ponder whether seminary might become a part of your own journey with Jesus. I began my studies in January 2023 at Emmanuel Christian Seminary (Milligan University), Johnson City, TN, studying remotely with a cohort in the MACM program (biblical studies, theology, church history, and practical ministries). I’m loving it! Emmanuel’s strengths are: a strong and supportive community; a willingness to engage in the hot topics of our day; commitment and devotion to Christ unapologetically; a solid grounding in the authority of Scripture; excellent scholarship; diverse readings across times, places, and cultures; unity in the body of Christ, connecting with the community; and doing authentic life together, with all of the accompanying highs, lows, unpredictability, and messiness. This journey is a gift from God for me that I freely share with you!
