What Do We Know? (thank you, Fleetwood Mac!)

Socrates famously said, “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” While there are some things we do know, it doesn’t take long to realize there are many more that we don’t. Let’s be humble and careful about what we claim to know. Thank you, Fleetwood Mac, for your great music! May God bless you, protect you, and give you peace!

Music: “Dreams” (Fleetwood Mac)

Words by me: Cheese – there are many kinds, Gouda sure tastes like Edam. Well, who are we to tell them apart? And butterflies, or are they moths? We just can’t tell. But when we’re asked, we have a sure reply. Need humility. Hares and rabbits get confused, well, they don’t – we can’t tell who is who. We know so much (we think we know). We know so much (we think we know). Does thunder only happen when it’s raining? Do players move their pieces while they’re playing? Locomotives, they may stop, and they may go. If they accelerate, their speed might slow. What do we know? Cement and concrete, I see both, but which is which? The name of the truck is all mixed up. And if we eat a cupcake early in the morning, does that make it a muffin? Well, who can tell? Need humility. Hares and rabbits get confused, well, they don’t – we can’t tell who is who. We know so much (we think we know). We know so much (we think we know). Does thunder only happen when it’s raining? Do players move their pieces while they’re playing? Locomotives, they may stop, and they may go. If they accelerate, their speed might slow. (x 2) What do we know?
