500 Hugs (thank you, The Proclaimers!)

One thing I’ve thought since the beginning of this pandemic is that if this doesn’t wake us all up and make us appreciate relationships a bazillion times more, I don’t know what will. Relationships are precious! Let’s look out for one another and find someone that we can help. I hope this encourages you and helps you to live fully and gratefully in the present while looking forward to the day when we can give lots of hugs again. Thank you, The Proclaimers, for your great music. May God bless you, protect you, and give you peace!

Music: “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” (The Proclaimers)
Words by me: When we get to the point of herd immunity, we’re gonna be that much more grateful than we were. When we go out, yeah, we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be the friend who goes to be with you. If we celebrate, well, we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be the friend who celebrates with you. And if we weep, well, we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be the friend who weeps along with you. Then we could give 500 hugs, and we could give 500 more just to be the friend who gives our time to spend to be there at your door. When we’re working, yes, we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be the friend who’s working in our land. And when the money comes in for the work we do, we’ll pass it generously to those who need a hand. When we come home, well we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be there for our loved ones every day. And if we grow old, well, we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be there to live, laugh, love, help, and pray. Then we could give 500 hugs, and we could give 500 more just to be the friend who gives our time to spend to be there at your door. Da da da da, Da da da da, da da da dun diddle un diddle un diddle ah da da x2 When we’re lonely, well, we know we’re gonna be, we’re gonna be the one who reaches out in hope. And when we’re doing well, well, we know we’re gonna find, we’re gonna find someone that we can help to cope. When we go out, well, we know we’re gonna be the friend who loves and spreads joy in all kinds of ways. When we come home, well, we know we’re gonna be so very present every hour of each day, so very present every hour of each day. Then we could give 500 hugs, and we could give 500 more just to be the friend who gives our time to spend to be there at your door. Da da da da, Da da da da, da da da dun diddle un diddle un diddle ah da da x4 Then we could give 500 hugs, and we could give 500 more just to be the friend who gives our time to spend to be there at your door.
