Ding Dong Drop

My friend Elizabeth and her young children came up with this great idea to reach out to people they know who are sick, struggling, vulnerable, or isolated in some way (especially during the Coronavirus pandemic / lockdown).

They prepare a bunch of gifts (either purchased or home made), attaching a hand written note of encouragement to each one. After figuring out who the recipients will be, they go to each home, leave the gift in front of the door (“drop”), ring the doorbell (“ding dong”), and then leave before anyone answers the door. Isn’t that an awesome way to encourage and bless others (without putting anyone at risk)?

The photo shows some of the flowers Elizabeth and her kids left at the front doors for mothers of young children.
