Paul & Karen dates

A strong family is built on strong relationships – love for God and love for one another being paramount. Paul and I made the decision even before we married that we would intentionally invest in, tend, care for, listen to, and support one another, in a myriad of ways. One of the things we’ve done throughout the years is weekly dates. It might be a picnic in the park, a night a the movies, exploring a new hike, or a special anniversary dinner. Sometimes we didn’t have a babysitter or much in the budget, so we’ve at times had at-home dates with creativity and care. By the grace of God, we haven’t missed a week in 34 years! Setting aside a couple of hours just to be together and share life without the distractions of whatever is going on helps us to stay current with one another and enjoy many experiences together. Plus it’s a lot of fun! We have worked hard to remain best friends, a daily choice to love, respect, treasure, and enjoy one another.
